Pros and cons
Slatted construction lets wind through, easing loading on exposed sites where solid fences develop problems
Cedar reads cleanly across the slatted surface, pigmented through the slat body for even weathering
Frames a garden rather than enclosing it, suiting contemporary planting and longer sightlines
Composite construction needs no oiling, painting, or annual maintenance
Slatted geometry gives partial sightlines, not full visual privacy; specify Classic for solid-look enclosure
Gaps between slats catch leaf-litter; an extra autumn rinse is the small cost

Product description
PuraFence Royal Slatted Composite Fence Panel Kit
PuraFence Royal is the slatted composite fencing panel system, supplied as a panel kit with horizontal slats spaced for partial visibility through the fence. A different aesthetic from the solid-look Classic range: the Royal style suits modern garden architecture where airflow, partial sightlines, or a less imposing fence presence is part of the design intent. Sized for a 1900 mm post centre.
Cedar is a soft, mid-honey timber tone that reads convincingly as wood at first glance. It carries enough warmth to soften a contemporary build and enough character to suit a more traditional setting.
Why slatted?
A slatted fence sits more lightly in the garden than a solid panel. Wind passes through it, which matters on exposed sites where solid fences develop loading problems and posts work loose over time. Plants on the boundary line breathe rather than mould against a sealed surface, which extends both the planting life and the fence life. And visually, a slatted fence frames a garden rather than enclosing it, the right choice for contemporary planting schemes and longer sightlines into and out of the garden.
Installation guidance
The panel kit slides into the slots in PuraFence H-profile metal posts, sized at 1900 mm post centres. Base plate at the bottom, post cap at the top. The PuraFence installation manual covers post setting, panel insertion, base plate detailing, and post cap fitting.
Care & maintenance
Periodic wash with warm water and a brush. Cedar holds well across the slatted surface, with pigmentation through the slat body rather than a surface coating. The PuraFence care guide covers approved products.
Complete the fence
PuraFence H-profile metal posts, base plates, and post caps sized for this kit are listed in the related products at the bottom of this page. A complete fence run should include posts, panels, base plates, and caps together for a single delivery.
