Puraboard Solid Composite Bullnose, Refined Grain
The matching bullnose edge board for refined-grain Puraboard, profiled with a softened front edge that finishes exposed step nosings, deck perimeters, and changes of level cleanly. Solid composite throughout, in the same Chestnut tone and refined grain texture as the deck boards.
Chestnut is a rich, warm mid-brown with a soft red undertone, evocative of the seasoned timber it’s named after. It complements both contemporary and traditional buildings, and sits beautifully against pale stone.
What it does
A bullnose carries a rounded front edge in place of a square corner, eliminating the sharp 90-degree edge that’s both a stub-toe hazard and a visual sign of unfinished detailing. On steps it’s the difference between a deck that feels designed and one that feels assembled. The solid Puraboard construction lets the bullnose carry full structural load, which matters where the nosing is also a step tread.
Installation guidance
Face-fixed with stainless screws into pre-drilled pilot holes, or bonded with structural adhesive on shorter runs. Allow appropriate expansion gaps at joints. The Puraboard installation manual covers bullnose detailing including step nosings, return corners, and perimeter terminations.
