Owatrol Seasonite is made for unfinished new wood in its first year. One generous coat stabilises the timber and helps prevent splitting, warping and cupping. After 6 to 12 months of weathering it leaves a sound surface for your chosen finish. Seasonite is not suitable for oak.

Clean it first with Owatrol Net-Trol, which restores greyed, weathered wood to its natural colour in as little as 15 minutes without bleaching. Then apply a penetrating oil such as Owatrol Textrol to protect it against moisture and UV.

Osmo UV Protection Oil is made for vertical timber such as cladding and delays natural greying by up to 12 times compared with untreated wood. Owatrol Textrol and WOCA Exterior Wood Oil also include UV protection and come in several tones.

No. Osmo UV Protection Oil, Owatrol Textrol and WOCA Exterior Wood Oil soak into the wood instead of forming a surface film, so they do not crack, peel or flake. You can top them up later without sanding.

Osmo UV Protection Oil covers about 18 m² per litre per coat, and two coats are recommended. Measure your wall area, double it for two coats, and divide by the coverage to find how many litres you need.

Apply Osmo UV Protection Oil at 10 to 35°C and allow 12 hours to dry. On new timber cladding, the first oil coat normally goes on within the first few months after installation, then gets refreshed every two or three years.
