Fence Panels and Garden Fencing in Ireland

Every garden fence starts with one question: timber or composite? We stock both, side by side, so you can compare them properly. Choose from timber fence panels in seven woods, timber fencing slats for a fence you design yourself, and PuraFence composite fence panels that never need staining. The posts, gates, caps and oils are here too, so one order covers the whole boundary.

Everything is held in our Dublin warehouse for collection or delivery anywhere in Ireland. Browse the panels above, add them to your cart, and the total updates as you go.

      How to Choose Fence Panels

Four things decide the right fence for your garden: privacy, style, height and upkeep. Here is how timber and composite compare on each.

      Privacy

For full privacy, go for a close slatted hardwood panel or composite PuraFence Classic, whose boards stack edge to edge into the posts with no gaps. PuraFence Royal Slatted panels are closed too, with a horizontal slatted face that looks the same from both sides. Want light and air to come through? Slatted timber panels block most of the view without boxing the garden in. A trellis style panel such as the Davitt gives partial cover and a frame for climbing plants.

      Style

Timber brings real grain: warm hardwood, the clean lines of Douglas Fir, the modern edge of black spruce, or rustic willow and chestnut for cottage gardens and country boundaries. Composite gives a smooth, even finish in teak, cedar, light grey, dark grey and ebony black. It suits a contemporary garden, or a fence you want to match to composite decking.

      Height and Size

Most of our timber fence panels are 1800×1800 mm, the standard size for a full height garden boundary. The 900×1800 mm Shaw Jr in Douglas Fir suits lower runs and front gardens. Composite PuraFence is built in 1900 mm bays, on base plate posts for a patio or slab, or on longer posts set in the ground where the fence takes the wind. Willow and chestnut come as rolls that follow curves and slopes where rigid panels can’t.

      Upkeep

Timber costs less to put up and needs a stain or oil every year or two to keep its colour and last its longest. Composite, also called WPC fencing, costs more at the start but never needs staining or oiling, and won’t warp, split or fade. Fit it and forget it.

How Much Do Fence Panels Cost?

Compare fences by the cost per metre, not the price of one panel. Every run needs panels, posts and fixings, and sometimes a gate. As a guide:

      • Lowest cost: the willow fencing roll and the Beckett pine panel, our cheapest ways to screen a garden.
      • Mid range: Douglas Fir and Ecowood panels, which balance price and durability.
      • Premium: hardwood, black spruce and composite, which cost more up front and last with the least fuss.

Looking for cheap garden fence panels that still look good? A pine or willow run with treated posts gives you a full boundary for the least outlay. Add everything to your cart and the total is in front of you before you order.

      Timber Fence Panels

Wood is the classic garden fence, and our timber fence panels cover every style and budget. Most are 1800×1800 mm, so different panels share the same posts:

      • Hardwood panels: dense, long lasting slatted panels for a permanent, architectural boundary.
      • Douglas Fir panels: strong and stable, in full height, half height and trellis styles.
      • Black spruce panels: factory finished in black for a sharp, modern look.
      • Ecowood panels: impregnated for exterior use, with a matching Joyce gate.
      • Pine panels: the most affordable full height slatted panel.
      • Willow panels: a framed panel or a roll for a soft, natural screen.
      • Chestnut fencing: cleft chestnut paling on a roll, for rural boundaries and curved runs.

      Timber Fencing Slats

Want a fence nobody else has? Build it from timber fencing slats. Fix them horizontally or vertically to your own posts, and set the gap for as much privacy as you like.

      • Cedar slats: naturally weather resistant, with a warm tone.
      • Larch slats: dense larch, tougher outdoors than most softwoods.
      • Ecowood slats: kiln dried softwood in three widths, a consistent, good value screen.
      • MicroShades slats: treated slats that arrive factory finished, with nothing to do on site.

      Composite Fence Panels

Our composite fence panels give you the look of timber with none of the upkeep: no staining, no oiling, no rot. PuraFence comes as kits, each with 12 boards and a post that you slide together bay by bay on site. Choose the solid PuraFence Classic range for full privacy, or the PuraFence Royal range for a slatted, contemporary look, both with matching gates.

      Posts, Gates and Fencing Accessories

Finish the run with our fencing accessories. Fence panel capping in spruce, black spruce and hardwood protects the top of a panel and gives a crisp finished line, and our garden gates match the Joyce Ecowood, black and chestnut fencing. Composite fencing has its own PuraFence posts and gates in every colour.

      Fence Oils and Stains

A timber fence that gets oiled lasts longer and keeps its colour. Treat it before it goes up, then every year or two, or whenever the water stops beading on the surface. Our fence oils and stains include tinted and clear exterior oils, UV protection oils and wood cleaners that restore a greyed fence.

Frequently Asked Questions About Fence Panels

It depends on what matters most to you. For no upkeep, choose composite PuraFence. For a permanent timber boundary, hardwood and Douglas Fir panels last longest. Slatted timber gives a contemporary, semi private screen, and willow or chestnut suits a natural, rustic garden.

Close slatted hardwood panels and solid PuraFence Classic composite give full privacy, because there are no gaps to see through. PuraFence Royal is a closed panel too, with a horizontal slatted face that looks the same from both sides. Slatted timber panels give lighter, semi private cover that lets light and air through.

A standard garden fence panel is 1800×1800 mm, about 6 ft by 6 ft, and most of our timber panels are that size. The Shaw Jr is 900×1800 mm for lower runs. PuraFence composite is built in 1900 mm bays and stands about 1.9 m high.

It depends on the material, the range, the style and how many posts, fixings and gates your run needs. Compare the cost per metre rather than the price of one panel. Every product shows its current price, and your cart totals the whole run before you order.

The willow fencing roll is the lowest cost way to screen a boundary, and the Beckett pine panel is our most affordable full height slatted panel. Both last longest with a stain or oil every year or two.

For composite, choose the 2500 mm in-ground PuraFence kit, which anchors far more securely against wind than the base plate version. For timber, set the posts firmly in concrete, and consider slatted panels, which let some wind pass through rather than taking the full load.

For timber, divide the length of your fence by the panel width plus one post, round up for the number of panels, and add one more post than panels. For composite, you need one PuraFence kit per 1.9 m bay, plus one extra post to finish the run.

Yes. PuraFence composite panels slot into our H-profile aluminium posts, in a 1.9 m base plate version and a 2.5 m in-ground version. For timber fencing we stock chestnut posts and treated pine round posts, and our timber panels also sit between 70×70 mm timber posts or 100×100 mm concrete posts using corner brackets.

Yes. The Behan panel is black-stained spruce and the Maud panel is black-sprayed spruce, both 1800×1800 mm. In composite, both PuraFence Classic and PuraFence Royal come in Ebony Black, with matching gates.

PuraFence composite comes in Teak, Light Grey, Dark Grey and Ebony Black, with Cedar in the Royal range too. For timber, choose black-finished spruce or a natural wood, and keep its colour with a tinted or clear oil, or let it weather to silver grey.

Yes. We stock Joyce Ecowood, chestnut, black and hardwood garden gates and gate frames, and composite gates in every PuraFence colour, so the entrance matches the fence around it.

Yes. Order online and collect from our Dublin warehouse, or have your fence panels delivered anywhere in Ireland. Order the panels, posts and gates together so the whole run comes at once.
