MicroShades Timber Cladding for Sale in Ireland
MicroShades is treated softwood cladding that arrives with its protective finish already applied in the factory. There’s no staining or oiling to do before it goes up, so the wall looks finished from the day the last board is fixed. Every board is stocked in our warehouse and delivered across Ireland.
Why Choose MicroShades Cladding
- Factory finished: applied under controlled conditions, so the colour is even and the finish bonds better than a coat brushed on in Irish weather.
- Deep treatment: the protection penetrates into the timber rather than sitting on the surface.
- Service life of 20 years and beyond on an exterior wall.
- Saves time on site: ideal when the schedule or the weather leaves no window for finishing.
MicroShades Profiles and Sizes
Both profiles are 18 mm thick, so the choice comes down to the look you want on the wall. Choose the length on the product page; longer boards mean fewer joints on long runs. Enter your wall area in the calculator there and it works out how many boards you need; the cart adds the fixings and extras.
MicroShades Shiplap Cladding
The shiplap board is 144×18 mm, and each board overlaps the one below so rain runs off the face. Choose it for horizontal cladding with a clear shadow line on houses, extensions and garden rooms.
MicroShades T&G Cladding
The T&G board is 94×18 mm, and the boards lock edge to edge for a tight, flush face. Choose it for vertical, horizontal or diagonal cladding, where the narrower board puts more lines across the wall.
Installing MicroShades Cladding
- Fix to treated battens over a breather membrane, with a ventilated gap of at least 20 mm behind the boards. Our MicroShades battens match the finish.
- Use A2 or A4 stainless steel fixings and pre-drill near the board ends.
- Reseal every cut end with a touch up sealer so the protection stays continuous along the board.
Maintaining MicroShades Cladding
The factory finish does the hard work, but like any finish it fades with UV. To keep the colour deep and the protection strong, apply a refresh coat every two or three years, using a product that pairs with the factory finish. See our wood oils and stains.

Frequently Asked Questions About MicroShades Cladding
What is MicroShades cladding?
MicroShades is a treated softwood cladding that arrives factory-finished. The protective finish is already applied, so you skip treating it on site and the boards look finished from the day they go up.
Do I need to treat cut ends of MicroShades?
Yes. When you cut boards on site, reseal the exposed end grain with a touch-up sealer. This keeps the protective treatment continuous along the whole board.
How do I maintain MicroShades cladding?
Apply a refresh coat every two or three years to keep the colour depth and protection. Use maintenance products that pair with the factory finish, so the refreshed surface matches the original.
How long does MicroShades cladding last?

What MicroShades profiles are available?
