Pros and cons
Hollow square-chamber profile keeps board weight and price down without compromising the structural engineering
Oak sits naturally in typical Irish garden settings and pairs easily with stone and rendered walls
Hidden clip installation gives a clean, fastener-free deck surface
No oiling, staining, or annual maintenance routine over the life of the deck
Single-extrusion construction means surface durability is good but not at the level of co-extruded ranges
Hollow profile needs matching fascia or trim for a tidy finish at exposed board ends

PuraPro Square Hole Composite Decking
PuraPro is the value-tier entry to a properly engineered composite deck. A square-chambered hollow board with a grain-and-groove top surface, designed to deliver the long-term benefits of composite decking at a price that suits back gardens, holiday lets, and projects where the budget needs to stretch. The premium-tier features that push other ranges higher have been left out by design; everything that makes a composite deck a sound choice in our climate is still in.
Oak carries a warm mid-tan tone, soft enough to feel domestic and substantial enough to hold its own against natural stone. It sits especially well next to sandstone, exposed brick, and cream-rendered walls.
What you’re getting
A hollow-chambered profile with a grain-and-groove surface for slip resistance, which matters on a deck that stays wet for much of the year. The hollow chambers reduce weight and material cost without compromising the structural job a deck board has to do. PuraPro is a single-extrusion composite, not co-extruded, which is why it sits in the entry tier; the underlying wood-and-polymer blend is the same engineering that established composite decking as a serious alternative to timber.
Installation guidance
Designed for hidden clip systems on a properly built substructure with joists at 350 mm centres or tighter. The hollow profile means board ends should be finished with sleeves or matching fascia rather than face-fixed. Composite decking expands and contracts with temperature, so the recommended expansion gaps must be allowed in both directions. Full step-by-step instructions, joist-spacing tables, and recommended fixings are in the PuraPro installation manual; download it before you start.
Care & maintenance
The composite construction means no oiling, no staining, and no sanding over the life of the deck. A wash with warm water and a stiff brush a couple of times a year is sufficient, with an additional rinse in autumn while leaf-litter is still fresh rather than starting to break down. The Oak colour will mellow slightly over the first year as UV exposure does its work, then settle into its long-term appearance. The PuraPro care guide covers approved cleaning products and what to avoid.
Complete the deck
Matching PuraPro fascia boards in Oak for clean, finished deck edges are listed in the related products at the bottom of this page. Order the deck and the fascia together to keep tones aligned across one production batch.
