PuraFix™ Composite Hollow Joist
The PuraFix hollow joist is a light 40×30 mm section for building a slim frame that will never rot or need treating, so the structure behind your boards lasts as long as the boards themselves. It comes in 3 m lengths and is stocked in our warehouse for delivery across Ireland.
Compatibility & use
Its main job is as a cladding batten behind our composite cladding ranges, PuraTech, PuraShell and PuraClassic, holding the boards off the wall and leaving a ventilated cavity behind them. Fix the battens at the centres given in the installation guide for your cladding range, and double them up where two boards butt together.
It is also listed with our decking joists for low composite decks where the frame is fully supported along its length. For a deck that spans between supports, choose one of the deeper PuraFix composite joists instead. Our board calculator allows about 3 m of joist for every square metre of composite decking, which puts joists at roughly 330 mm centres; divide the total by the 3 m length and round up.
