PuraClad Brushed T&G Composite Cladding
PuraClad Brushed is co-extruded T&G composite cladding with a brushed surface finish: a fine, linear texture that catches light differently along its grain than a smooth-faced board, giving the cladding a quietly tactile character without the heavy texture of a wood-grain emboss. Tongue-and-groove geometry means each board locks into the next for a clean, weather-resistant continuous face with concealed fixings throughout.
Charcoal is a deep, even mid-grey with a hint of warmth, dark enough to ground a contemporary scheme without tipping into black. It works well against pale render, light stone, and bright planting where a sharper contrast is wanted.
Why brushed?
The brushed finish is the more architectural of the PuraClad surface options, suited to contemporary builds where heavy wood-grain texture would feel out of place. It reads as a refined cladding board rather than a timber-imitation. The fine surface variation also forgives small site-level imperfections, where a perfectly flat surface would show every shadow and undulation. On large or close-viewed elevations, the brushed finish tends to age more gracefully than smooth alternatives.
Where it works
Contemporary new-builds, modernist renovations, projects where the cladding is the primary architectural finish on the elevation. The fine linear texture pairs particularly well with anthracite-framed glazing, smooth render, and clean masonry detailing. On urban infill and townhouse projects where the cladding sits close to the eye, the brushed finish reads more deliberately than wood-grain alternatives.
Installation guidance
Battened substrate with proper ventilation cavity, T&G boards locked together along their length and fixed through the tongue with stainless screws into the batten. The PuraClad installation manual covers batten spacing, fixing patterns, expansion allowances, and detailing at openings.
Care & maintenance
Periodic wash. Charcoal holds well across the brushed surface; the linear texture catches slightly more dust than a smooth face but rinses cleanly. The PuraClad care guide covers approved products.
Complete the cladding run
Compatible PuraClad accessories including matched fixings and finishing components are listed in the related products at the bottom of this page. Order them alongside the boards to keep the project on a single delivery.
