Warm up your interiors with Egger Mussel ST9 melamine faced chipboard, a soft, versatile neutral stocked in our yard for delivery across Ireland. You get a gentle greige toned decor with a smooth ST9 matt face that pairs with almost any scheme, faced both sides onto a dependable chipboard core. At a full 2800 by 2070 mm and 18 mm thick, each sheet offers excellent yield for cabinetry and joinery, and a colour matched ABS edging is available so your finished edges look seamless.
Why Egger MFC?
Melamine faced chipboard hands you a finished surface straight off the sheet, which is why it is a workshop staple. The fused matt face resists scratches and scuffs and wipes clean in moments, so soft neutrals like Mussel stay fresh in kitchens, wardrobes and living spaces. Factory pressed colour stays consistent from sheet to sheet, keeping a run of units perfectly matched. The 18 mm core is flat and stable for carcasses, shelves and panels alike. Remember this is an interior board, so it is not suited to wet rooms or outdoor use.
Installation guidance
Keep the face clean by cutting with a scored line or a fine tooth TCT blade, and support the full sheet so it does not flex or chip. Build with confirmat screws, dowels or your standard cabinet fittings, all of which anchor firmly in the core. For shelving, keep unsupported spans sensible so an 18 mm board does not bow under weight, and add support on longer runs. Orient the decor the same way across paired parts for a tidy, deliberate finish throughout the unit.
Finishing & edge care
Because the faces come finished, your work is at the edges. Seal every exposed edge with our matching Mussel ST9 ABS edging to close off the core and deliver a clean, hardwearing result. Keep the board dry through storage and use, and treat it strictly as an interior product. For everyday care, a damp cloth handles most marks, while abrasive pads and strong solvents should be avoided so the soft matt surface keeps its even look.
