Egger Carbon Grey ST9 MFC – Protective Foil 2 Sides
Build in a deep, workshop ready grey with Egger Carbon Grey ST9 melamine faced chipboard, supplied with protective foil on both faces and stocked for delivery across Ireland. You get a dark, elegant charcoal grey decor with a smooth ST9 matt face, faced both sides onto a stable chipboard core, with a peel off film keeping the finish pristine through cutting, handling and site delivery. Each sheet measures a full 2800 by 2070 mm at 18 mm thick, and a colour matched ABS edging is available so every edge finishes to match the face.
Why the protective foil?
Dark matt colours show every mark until the foil comes off, so protecting the face through the working day is worth the small extra step. The factory applied film shields the surface from tool marks, adhesive spatter and site knocks, then peels off cleanly at the end for an untouched finish. Underneath sits standard Egger MFC, scratch and scuff resistant, easy to wipe down and consistent in tone from sheet to sheet. The 18 mm core stays flat and stable for carcassing and shelving.
Installation guidance
Cut through the foil with a fine tooth TCT blade and keep the sheet fully supported so the edge stays chip free. Assemble with confirmat screws, dowels or standard cabinet fittings, which take a firm hold in the core. Keep unsupported shelf spans sensible so the board carries its load without bowing, and add a mid support on longer runs. Once the unit is in position, peel the foil off in one steady pass from a corner so no adhesive residue is left on the deep grey face.
Finishing & edge care
Faces come pre finished and pre protected, so the edges are where you complete the look. Fit our matching Carbon Grey ST9 ABS edging to every cut edge to close off the core and carry the dark tone right to the edge. Keep the board dry through storage and use, and treat it as an interior product only. Clean with a soft damp cloth once the foil is off, avoiding abrasive pads and strong solvents that can dull the deep matt face.
