Egger Silver Grey Metal Slate ST16 MFC
Add the character of layered metallic slate to your interiors with Egger Silver Grey Metal Slate ST16 melamine faced chipboard, stocked in our warehouse for delivery across Ireland. You get a cool silver grey decor with a subtle metallic shimmer and the ST16 slate texture that catches light like rolled sheet metal, faced both sides onto a stable chipboard core. Each sheet measures a full 2800 by 2070 mm at 18 mm thick for high yield, and a colour matched ABS edging is available so the metallic effect carries through every cut edge cleanly.
Why Egger MFC?
Melamine faced chipboard gives you a genuine metallic slate look without cladding real metal, and holds up to daily use in the process. The fused, textured face is scratch and scuff resistant and wipes clean quickly, so the shimmer keeps its lift on statement units, reception panels and feature cabinetry. Because the decor is factory pressed, the pattern and metallic tone stay uniform sheet to sheet, which is essential on a directional effect where paired parts need to read continuously. The 18 mm core stays flat and stable for carcassing. As with all MFC, this is an interior board.
Installation guidance
The metallic ST16 face is directional, so plan cuts so the shimmer runs the same way across paired parts of a unit, or the effect will read as two different colours side by side. Score the line or use a fine tooth TCT blade and back the sheet fully so the textured face does not chip. Assemble with confirmat screws, dowels or standard cabinet fittings, which grip the core securely. Keep unsupported shelf spans sensible so an 18 mm board carries its load without bowing.
Finishing & edge care
Faces come finished, so the edges complete the metallic effect. Seal every cut edge with our matching Silver Grey Metal Slate ST16 ABS edging to close off the core and carry the shimmer right to the edge. Keep the board dry through storage and use, and treat it as an interior product only. Clean with a soft damp cloth and avoid abrasive pads and strong solvents, which can flatten the slate texture or dull the metallic sparkle.
