Get a factory-perfect warm brown linen-effect finish across a whole run of cabinets, wardrobes or shopfitting, with none of the spraying, sanding or drying time. This is Egger melamine faced chipboard from the Uni-decors range, a full 2800 by 2070 mm sheet that gives you 5.80 m² of hard-wearing decorative surface per board, stocked in our yard for delivery across Ireland. You specify the look once and every panel matches, board to board and job to job.

Why melamine faced chipboard?

MFC pairs a stable Egger Eurospan chipboard core with a melamine surface fused under heat and pressure, so the decorative face is bonded into the board rather than sitting on top of it. That surface shrugs off the daily knocks that ruin a painted finish. It resists scratches, scuffs and everyday wear, wipes clean in seconds, and holds its finish without fading in normal interior light. The Brown Linen decor carries the ST10 surface texture, a subtle linen-style texture, so the pattern and the feel of the board are matched for you at the factory.

It is built for dry interior work: furniture, fitted wardrobes, kitchen carcasses, reception counters and general joinery. It is not a structural or exterior board, so keep it out of wet or unheated spaces and let the core do what it does best indoors.

Installation guidance

Cutting cleanly is the whole game with MFC. Use a sharp, fine-tooth TCT blade and a light scoring pass on the underside to stop the melamine chipping along the cut line, and support the board fully so it cannot sag or tear out. Panels machine and drill much like any quality chipboard, so any competent workshop will find them forgiving. Fix and assemble with standard cabinet hardware, cam locks, dowels and screws.

Finishing & edge care

The one detail that separates a professional job from an amateur one is the edges. A cut board leaves the raw chipboard core exposed, so band every visible edge with the matching Brown Linen ST10 ABS edging (we stock it in the same decor, ask us to add a roll to your order). For upkeep, a soft cloth with warm water or a mild non-abrasive cleaner is all the surface ever needs. Avoid scouring pads and harsh solvents, which can dull the finish over time.
