Egger GFE Painting Grade SM MFC
When the colour you need is not in any standard decor range, this is the board that lets you make your own. The Egger GFE painting grade panel gives you a factory-flat, paint-ready surface, so you can spray or brush it to any bespoke shade and still start from a stable, consistent base. It is a full 2800 by 2070 mm sheet offering 5.80 m² per board, stocked in our yard for delivery across Ireland. Specify one board or a full pack and finish it to match your exact scheme.
Why a painting grade board?
Painting grade pairs the same stable Egger Eurospan chipboard core you get across the MFC range with a smooth matt (SM) surface that is prepared to take paint rather than carry a printed decor. That gives you the flatness and dimensional stability of a factory board with the freedom of an on-site colour, which is why it is the go-to for feature units, colour-matched joinery and one-off pieces that have to hit a specific brief.
It is built for dry interior work: furniture, fitted units, reception counters and general joinery. It is not a structural or exterior board, so keep it out of wet or unheated spaces and let the core do what it does best indoors.
Installation guidance
Cut with a sharp, fine-tooth TCT blade and support the board fully so the edge stays clean, and it will machine and drill much like any quality chipboard. Fix and assemble with standard cabinet hardware, cam locks, dowels and screws. Because the surface is destined for paint, handle it clean and keep it free of grease and marks before you start finishing.
Finishing & edge care
Treat it as you would any prepared board bound for paint: a light key, a suitable primer and your chosen topcoat, built up in thin, even layers for a smooth result. Confirm the primer and paint system with us before you start so the finish keys and cures properly (we can point you to the right products for the job). Seal and finish the cut edges along with the faces, and once painted, wipe clean with a soft cloth and a mild non-abrasive cleaner, avoiding scouring pads and harsh solvents.
