Egger Indigo Blue ST9 MFC 8 mm
Reach for a slim, versatile panel with Egger Indigo Blue ST9 melamine faced chipboard in a thin 8 mm gauge, stocked in our yard for delivery across Ireland. You get a deep, elegant blue decor with a smooth ST9 matt face, faced both sides onto a stable chipboard core. At a full 2800 by 2070 mm and just 8 mm thick, this board is made for the lighter jobs: cabinet backs, drawer bases, sliding door infills and decorative wall panels, with a colour matched ABS edging available so any visible edge finishes cleanly.
Why Egger MFC?
Melamine faced chipboard earns its place in modern furniture because the decorative surface does the hard work for you. The fused ST9 matt face is scratch and scuff resistant and wipes clean in seconds, so a rich colour like Indigo Blue stays sharp in kitchens, wardrobes and retail fit outs. Factory pressed decor keeps colour consistent sheet to sheet, so back panels and infills match the rest of your Indigo Blue units exactly. The thin 8 mm core is light and easy to handle. This is an interior board, so keep it out of persistently wet areas.
Installation guidance
At 8 mm this is a thin panel rather than a structural board, so treat it accordingly. It is ideal for grooved in cabinet backs, drawer bottoms, sliding door panels and wall features, not for load bearing carcasses or shelving. Score the cut line or use a fine tooth TCT blade to keep the melamine chip free, and support the full sheet as you cut since a thin board flexes easily. Slot it into grooves or fix to a frame rather than relying on edge screws, which do not hold well in an 8 mm edge.
Finishing & edge care
The faces arrive finished, so any exposed edge is the only thing to address. Where an 8 mm edge will be seen, seal it with our matching Indigo Blue ST9 ABS edging and trim both sides back flush, since the 23 mm tape is wider than the panel. Keep the board dry and treat it as an interior product. Cleaning is easy: a damp cloth lifts most marks, while abrasive pads and harsh solvents are best avoided so the deep colour keeps its even look.
