Egger Light Chicago Concrete ST9 MFC
Get the concrete effect look in a softer, lighter tone with Egger Light Chicago Concrete ST9 melamine faced chipboard, stocked in our yard for delivery across Ireland. You get a pale concrete inspired decor with a smooth ST9 matt face that feels contemporary without darkening a room, faced both sides onto a stable chipboard core. At a full 2800 by 2070 mm and 18 mm thick, each sheet delivers excellent yield, and a colour matched ABS edging is available so the effect continues cleanly across every edge.
Why Egger MFC?
Melamine faced chipboard gives you a finished, on trend surface that is ready to build with straight away. The fused matt face resists scratches and scuffs and wipes clean in seconds, so a light concrete effect stays crisp in kitchens, offices and retail spaces. Factory pressed decor keeps the pattern and tone uniform across sheets, which is important for a subtle effect like this. The 18 mm core stays flat and dependable for carcassing and shelving. As with all MFC, treat this as an interior board and keep it clear of persistent moisture.
Installation guidance
Cut with a scored line or a fine tooth TCT blade and keep the sheet fully supported so the face does not chip. Assemble with confirmat screws, dowels or standard cabinet fittings, which grip the core securely. For shelving, keep unsupported spans sensible so an 18 mm board carries its load without sagging, and add a support on longer runs. Where the effect has a direction, run it consistently across paired parts so the pattern reads naturally through the finished unit.
Finishing & edge care
The faces come finished, so your focus is the edges. Seal each exposed edge with our matching Light Chicago Concrete ST9 ABS edging to close off the core and keep the effect unbroken from face to edge. Keep the board dry through storage and use, and treat it as an interior product only. For upkeep, a damp cloth clears most marks, while abrasive pads and harsh solvents are best avoided so the light matt surface stays even.
