PuraPrime Round Hollow Composite Decking
PuraPrime is the premium hollow profile in the composite decking range. The round-chamber construction is engineered for higher stiffness than square-chamber alternatives at the same wall thickness, distributing load more evenly and reducing flex underfoot on long unsupported spans. It’s the choice when the deck has to feel solid without paying for a fully solid board.
Slate Grey is a cool, slightly blue-toned mid-to-dark grey that reads as architectural rather than decorative. It pairs well with modern render, anthracite-framed glazing, and the muted greens of a typical Irish garden.
Why round chambers?
Square chambers carry load efficiently along their walls, but the corners are stress concentrators. Round chambers spread load through the curve of the wall, producing a stiffer board for a given amount of material. In practice, this translates to less perceptible flex underfoot on standard joist spacings and a board that reads as more substantial than a square-hollow alternative of similar dimensions.
Where it makes sense
Decks where the feel underfoot matters: outdoor dining areas, frequently-used family terraces, and decks where the substructure is at the upper end of acceptable joist spacing. The premium feel is most apparent when the same person who specified a hollow board in their first project upgrades to PuraPrime in their second.
Installation guidance
Hidden clip system on joists at 350 mm centres, with composite expansion gaps. The round-chamber profile requires its own specific end caps to finish exposed ends cleanly, since the chamber geometry differs from square-hollow boards. Care & maintenance
Wash with warm water and a stiff brush as needed, no oiling or staining required. The Slate Grey finish settles into its long-term tone within the first year. The PuraPrime care guide covers approved cleaning products.
