Genuine European white oak BS EN636 Class 3 crown-cut veneer on both faces over a dense, void-free birch plywood core
The oversized 2500×1250 mm sheet gives you a clean 2.5 m run without a join, which matters when you're cladding a long wall or building a full-height wardrobe carcass.
Two-sided A/B veneer means you can use it for freestanding furniture, dividers and open shelving where both faces are on show
The exposed birch ply edge reads as considered, modern joinery, so you can skip the lipping and let the layered laminations become a design feature
Crown-cut veneer delivers the distinctive cathedral grain figure clients picture when they ask for "real oak"
Best kept dry; not intended for sustained wet or exterior exposure

19 mm oak veneered plywood is the thickness to build oak furniture from. Real oak veneer on a birch plywood core, veneered on both faces.
Cabinet building is the job it is made for. At 19 mm the board takes cabinet hardware properly: a concealed hinge seats with material behind it, assembly screws reach full depth into the edge, and shelf pin holes leave timber either side, and the birch core is what makes that work because it is dense and free of voids. Desk and table tops, worktops, deep shelving, stair panelling and any piece where the oak face has to run across a large area without a joint are the others. The oversize sheet is the other reason to choose it, since at 2500×1250 mm you can get a full height door and a shelf out of one board where a standard sheet would leave you short.
Cutting and handling
At 45.83 kg it is a firm two person lift that needs a clear route in. Cut good face upwards, score the line, and support the sheet fully, because a board this heavy will sag into a cut if it is only held at the ends and the face is too valuable to risk. Never drag a sheet across anything, since a scratch through the veneer cannot be sanded out.
Fixing and painting
Go carefully with the sander: the veneer is no thicker here than on the 13 mm board, so the same rule applies, light passes and stop before you think you need to. Edge it with oak tape or a solid oak lipping, and at this thickness a solid lipping looks right and gives you an edge you can round over.
Where not to use it
For doors and lighter panels the 13 mm board is easier to hang and puts less strain on the hinges. It is a dry interior board, so anywhere damp wants marine plywood instead. The full range is on the veneered plywood page, with the other grades on the plywood page.
