How much are the delivery costs?
Delivery charges are based on your location and are calculated automatically during checkout. You can view the applicable delivery fee in your shopping cart under the “Delivery” step before completing your order.
Our standard delivery charges are:
- Dublin: €80
- Leinster: €160
- Munster: €160
- Connacht: €160
- Ulster: €160
How will my order be delivered?
Small items, such as samples or tins of oil, are usually sent with external parcel carriers. These deliveries work much like a standard parcel delivery and are managed by the carrier.
Larger orders are delivered by heavy transport, as they often include bulky or palletised goods. Depending on the order and delivery vehicle, unloading may be carried out using a grab arm. A grab arm can place goods up to approximately 10 metres from the truck.
For very large packs, such as bales of sheets, you must have a forklift available on site to unload the order.
An adult must be present at the delivery address. If no suitable unloading arrangements are available, delivery will be made kerbside. Where possible, we will place the goods in a convenient location, such as a driveway, but this depends on access and site conditions.
When will my order be delivered?
The expected delivery time is an indication and not a guaranteed time. Therefore, do not schedule a work team on or around the day of delivery, as delays may occur due to large transport.
Here are the expected delivery times:
- Dublin: 3-5 working days
- Leinster: 7-10 working days
- Munster: 7-10 working days
- Connacht: 7-10 working days
- Ulster: 10-14 working days
Can I indicate a preferred delivery date?
Unfortunately, we cannot accept requests for specific delivery dates. Our delivery schedules are planned based on route availability, delivery volumes, and geographic clustering to ensure efficient transport. As a result, delivery dates are assigned by our logistics team and cannot be selected during checkout.
How can I track my order?
Unfortunately, it is not possible to track your order in real time. We use our own transport rather than third-party courier services.
Once your order is placed, we begin arranging the items immediately. Your delivery is then added to our transport schedule, and the final delivery date depends on several factors, including stock availability, restocking times, route planning, delivery volumes, and other deliveries in your area.
We will contact you when your delivery has been scheduled, normally one day in advance.
What time will my delivery be?
One day before delivery, you will receive an email and/or SMS regarding the delivery time of your order. Because we drive the most efficient route to keep delivery costs as low as possible, we cannot accommodate personal requests regarding the exact delivery time.
Please note: the expected delivery time is an indication and not a guaranteed delivery time. In some cases, the driver may exceed the time window; for example, due to delays caused by traffic congestion.
I cannot be present at the time of delivery; is that possible?
Good preparation helps ensure a smooth delivery. Please keep the following in mind:
- Any delivery date provided is an estimate and may change depending on transport planning and operational factors.
- Delivery times are indicative only and cannot be guaranteed. For this reason, we strongly recommend that you do not schedule contractors, installers, or work crews based solely on an estimated delivery date. Always wait until your materials have been delivered, checked, and confirmed before arranging any follow-on work.
- If nobody is available at the delivery address, the driver will unload the order at their discretion where available.
- To help ensure a successful delivery, please make sure there is a suitable unloading location, such as a clear driveway or parking space.
If there are any special delivery instructions, such as a preferred unloading area or a neighbour who can assist, please include these when placing your order.
Will my order be delivered in a single shipment?
Usually, your order will be delivered in a single shipment. However, in some cases, your order may arrive in more than one delivery if certain items are temporarily out of stock at the time of dispatch. If this happens, we may arrange a smaller truck or courier delivery for the remaining items.
Where does the driver leave my order?
When the delivery vehicle arrives, the driver will attempt to contact you at the delivery address. Orders are typically unloaded kerbside using a grab arm or other suitable unloading equipment.
If you would like the goods placed in a specific location, please include this information when placing your order. The driver will do their best to accommodate your request, provided it is safe and practical to do so. Our drivers cannot assist with moving goods beyond the delivery point or inside your property.
An adult must be present at the delivery address. If nobody is available at the delivery address, the driver will unload the order at their discretion where available.
I suffered damage during transport. What now?
Although transport damage is uncommon, we understand that it can be frustrating when it happens.
If you notice any damage, please take clear photos and send them to sales@timberireland.ie. We will review the information, investigate what occurred during transport, and get back to you as soon as possible.
If the damage is apparent upon delivery, please inform the driver immediately so that it can be noted on the delivery paperwork.
