Querkus Natura Allegro Oak Veneered Panel
Querkus Natura Allegro gives you the rhythm of narrow oak planking across a full sheet, with none of the movement, waste or fixing time that real boards bring with them. It is a genuine oak veneered panel by Decospan, made from oak grown in well managed forests, with FSC (FSC-C095327) and PEFC (PEFC/07-32-60) certified stock available on request. Stocked in our warehouse for delivery across Ireland, it is the panel you want when an elevation is tall or long and you need the grain to carry the eye across it rather than stop it dead.
Why Querkus Natura Allegro?
Allegro is jointed from a mix of quarter cut and crown cut boards using Decospan’s mixmatch technique, so the grain never falls into the repeating, mirrored pattern that gives a cheap veneer away. Quarter cut brings tight, straight, linear grain with the occasional ray fleck. Crown cut brings the broad cathedral arches most people picture when they think of oak. Together they read as a run of narrow planks.
That is the practical difference between Allegro and Adagio. Adagio lays up three wide crown cut boards for a calm, generous face. Allegro puts more, narrower boards across the same sheet, so the figure is busier and more evenly spread, and no single cathedral arch dominates the middle of a panel.
Behind that face, the panel is built to stay flat. Two layers of veneer are pressed to an 18 mm MDF core, the second layer acting as a balancer, for a finished thickness of 19 mm. Because every sheet in the range is composed the same way, Allegro mixes and matches with Adagio and with the Terra tones, so you can run one look on the wall and another through the joinery and have them sit together instead of competing.
Installation guidance
This is a decorative interior panel and it is not difficult to work, provided you respect the face. Let the sheets acclimatise flat in the room for at least 48 hours before cutting. Use a fine tooth blade, cut face up on a table saw or face down with a track saw, and support the full sheet so the offcut cannot drop and chip the veneer. Fix with panel adhesive and concealed fixings, and set out your sheet layout first so the plank lines carry across every joint.
Finishing & edge care
Natura is supplied raw, so the finish is your call. A clear hardwax oil or matt lacquer keeps the pale natural tone, while a white or grey pigmented oil holds off yellowing. Coat both faces and every cut edge, otherwise the panel takes up moisture unevenly and can bow. Go easy with abrasives: with only 0.6 mm to 1.5 mm of oak on the face, 180 to 240 grit by hand, with the grain, is as far as you should ever go. Matching edge banding, flex veneer and slats run right through the range, and we can order the edging to suit your sheets. Interior use only, away from standing water and direct sunlight.
