Why the Plus Range?

The Plus Range pairs proven timber construction with a darker, more deliberate aesthetic. Single sided Swedish rebate walls supplied impregnated in black create a structure with serious presence; the kind of finish that anchors a garden as a permanent feature rather than reading as a temporary outbuilding. Trellises supplied in matching black give you the option to define partial walls or train climbing plants for a softer transition between structure and planting. Generous planed uprights (120 by 120 millimetres) and a substantial ring beam carry the visual weight properly, so this is a structure built to look like a piece of architecture rather than a kit shed.

What’s in the kit and how it goes together

The kit arrives flat packed and ready to build: single sided Swedish rebate walls in impregnated black, two trellises (do it yourself assembly), planed uprights (120 by 120 millimetres), a substantial 45 by 160 millimetre ring beam, purlins and braces, roof boarding with a bevelled edge, fascia boards, wind springs, full fastening hardware, an EPDM rubber roof membrane with side water drainage, and step by step assembly instructions. Allow a full weekend for a confident two person build; nothing in the kit requires specialist tools, but a methodical approach pays off in the finished structure.

The most important step is the base. A Garden Room of this size needs a level, stable foundation to perform properly: a concrete slab, properly bedded paving, or a timber deck base all work well, but skipping this step is the single biggest cause of post build problems. Set the uprights plumb, get the ring beam square, and the rest of the kit lines up cleanly. Pre drill near board ends, fix with stainless steel hardware, and the joints will stay tight for decades. Finishing and maintenance

The finishing question is yours to answer, and it’s largely about the look you prefer rather than any real care burden. The impregnated black finish is built into the timber from the factory rather than applied on top, so the structure arrives with its weather protection already in place. Over the first few seasons the colour will mellow slightly as the surface settles in; many customers leave it alone at that point, enjoying the deep, slightly weathered black that suits the Plus Range aesthetic. If you’d rather refresh the colour every few years, a black or dark pigmented exterior oil will keep the finish looking factory fresh; we stock the right products for impregnated timber and can recommend the best match for your build. Skip film forming paints and varnishes (they don’t bond well with impregnated timber); a soft brush and diluted neutral cleaner once or twice a year handles routine cleaning.
