Coloured all the way through; cuts, routed profiles and drilled holes stay the same colour as the face
Classified MDF.HLS per EN 622-5; high-density, moisture-resistant, suitable for structural use in humid environments
Higher density and stronger internal cohesion than standard MDF; machines cleanly with less tool wear
Made in Portugal; design material that reads as natural wood rather than as coated MDF
Natural colour variation between sheets and within sheets; lay panels out before installation to minimise visible difference
Surface needs a finish (varnish, wax or oil) to protect the colour and the texture in service

Khaki Valchromat carries the pigment through the whole thickness, so every cut face comes out the same.
Khaki is the hardest colour here to judge from a screen. It is a muted olive brown that shifts with the light: greener by a window, browner under a warm bulb in the evening, and closer to grey in a north facing room. That is exactly why people like it, because it behaves like a natural material rather than a paint chart, but it does mean you should get an offcut into the actual room before you buy eleven sheets of it.
Cutting and handling
Two people, 48 kg. It is harder than ordinary MDF, which gives you a clean cut edge and a crisp routed profile, and costs you blade life in exchange. Support the sheet along the cut line and keep a scrap underneath if the underside is going to be seen. Extraction and a P2 or P3 mask, and be aware the dust is tinted and will mark a light floor.
Fixing and painting
Bare it looks washed out and slightly grey. Oiling is what makes the olive appear, and on this colour the change is the biggest surprise in the range. Test on an offcut in the light the piece will live in, not under a workshop fluorescent, because khaki is precisely the colour that fluorescent light ruins. Two coats of hardwax oil, faces and edges together, and let the first go off properly before the second. Pilot near edges and the board takes a screw well, better than standard MDF does, which is worth knowing if the piece is coming apart again for a move.
Where not to use it
It handles humidity but not standing water, so a utility room is fine and a wet room is not. If the piece needs to read clearly as one definite colour from across a room, khaki is not that board and green mint or chocolate will be more decisive. Everything in the palette is on the coloured MDF page, with the wider range on the MDF page.
