Treated C24 Timber
9×1 treated whitewood, 225 by 22 mm, is the widest treated board in this range: deep barge and fascia backing, garden building linings, and formwork that will be struck and reused outdoors. Strength-graded to C24 and kiln-dried below 22% moisture content before treatment, it is certified for structural use. Lengths run from 3 m to 5.4 m. Stocked in our warehouse for delivery across Ireland.
Why treated C24?
Formwork is the use that makes treatment pay here. A shutter board gets soaked, stacked wet and used again, which is exactly the cycle that destroys untreated timber in a season. A treated board survives several pours, and because it is graded to C24 it can also be trusted where the shutter is carrying real pressure rather than just forming an edge.
Installation guidance
On formwork, brace behind the board rather than relying on its stiffness, because 22 mm over 225 mm will bow under wet concrete. Use a release agent so the face is not torn on striking, and re-treat any face that gets badly scarred. Keep fixings back from the edges by at least three nail diameters, and use galvanised nails at minimum.
Finishing & maintenance
There is no finish to apply to shuttering, but boards used for visible work should be left to dry before painting. Stack flat on bearers between uses rather than leaning them against a wall, so they stay straight. For dry internal boarding, use 9×1 C24 timber rough sawn. Browse all C24 treated timber sizes, from 75×22 mm up to 225×75 mm. To compare sawn and treated sizes side by side, see our construction timber page.
