Green mint Valchromat is coloured right through, so an exposed edge needs nothing more than sanding and oil.
The name oversells the mint. It is a soft, dusty, slightly grey green, closer to sage than to anything sharp, and the fibre showing through mutes it further. That makes it one of the easier colours here to live with over a large area, and it is a common choice for bedroom joinery, utility runs and bathroom cabinetry outside the splash zone, where a full height wardrobe in a strong colour would be too much.
Cutting and handling
Two people at 48 kg. Because the board is hard and dense it cuts without furring and routs to a sharp edge, which is what lets you use the material honestly with visible edges rather than hiding them. Blades wear faster than on standard MDF, so keep a fresh one for the cuts that show. Cut with extraction or outside, wearing a P2 or P3 mask.
Fixing and painting
Unfinished it reads almost grey and most of the green is missing. Oil brings it back, so do not judge the colour until an offcut has been finished the way the job will be. A clear hardwax oil keeps it cool; an ambered one will push it towards olive, which may or may not be what you are after. Two coats, faces and edges, and a third on anything that gets a hand on it several times a day. Screws hold well in this density, better than in ordinary MDF, and it is still worth piloting close to an edge so a corner does not chip out.
Where not to use it
Moisture resistant is not the same as waterproof, so keep it back from baths and showers even in a bathroom. If you want the same restraint in a neutral instead of a colour, light grey does the job, and khaki sits between the two.
