Ecowood Boards
Ecowood boards are thick, wide softwood boards in our own Ecowood brand of kiln dried Red Class timber, with a warm honey brown tone and an even grain. The board is 195×45 mm, a heavy section for decking, cladding and exterior structural work. It is light enough to handle single handed, and it is stocked in our warehouse and delivered across Ireland.

Ecowood Boards for Sale in Ireland
Ecowood is our own brand of kiln dried Red Class softwood, supplied with consistent quality from one board to the next. It gives you the predictable, easy going feel of good softwood with far better outdoor performance than ordinary pine or spruce, and it arrives ready to install straight from the pack.
The Ecowood board is the heaviest section in the Ecowood range. At 45 mm thick it feels like proper timber, not a budget compromise, and it is the board to choose when a slim batten or cladding profile would flex.
Ecowood board size
We stock one size: a 195×45 mm board, square edged and heavy enough for decks, cladding and exterior structural framing. Choose the length on the product page; longer boards mean fewer joints on long runs. The calculator there works out how many boards you need for your deck or frame, and the cart adds the matching fixings for you.
Why choose Ecowood?
Kiln drying gives every Ecowood board a predictable moisture content, so it stays dimensionally stable on site instead of twisting or shrinking after it is fixed. That stability, and a service life of 25 years and beyond when properly looked after, is why Ecowood is a reliable choice where appearance and predictability both matter. With a density of around 520 kg/m³, it is light enough for one person to carry and cut.
Ecowood vs other timber boards
If you want hardwood, our Yellow Balau boards come in the same 45 mm thickness and are Durability Class 1, but they are much denser and heavier. The planed oak boards suit bench tops and rails where the grain is on show, and Douglas Fir boards are a slimmer 20 mm board with a reddish pink tone. The same Ecowood timber comes as Ecowood decking, Ecowood cladding and Ecowood joists, so a whole project can match.
Fixing Ecowood boards
Ecowood is straightforward to work with standard tools, and two habits keep it looking good for years. Use stainless steel A2 or A4 fixings outdoors, such as our timber screws, and pre drill near the board ends to stop the timber splitting.
Looking after Ecowood boards
Ecowood doesn’t need finishing to last, but left bare it weathers to silver grey over twelve to eighteen months. Most customers want to keep the warm honey tone, so they apply a UV protective oil for softwoods within the first few months of installation and refresh it every two or three years. Our exterior wood oils include clear and tinted UV protection oils that suit Ecowood.
